Trustees
Youth Service International is a work in progress. A key to success in launching this international venture is citizen leaders who believe in the mission of YSI and who will share responsibility for building this citizens' organization. These individuals are called YSI Trustees. Their role is threefold.

1. Each Trustee makes a tax-deductible contribution of $1,000 or more to YSI's core budget each year over a period of three years. These funds are extremely important for achieving YSI's goals because they are unrestricted, and are comparable to the "venture capital" behind entrepreneurial small-business ventures. Fifteen founding members have joined the YSI Trustees Group in 1999. Our goal is to raise $100,000 each year in general support funds through Trustees' contributions and solicitations.
   
2. The second role of YSI Trustees is to organize an annual fundraiser in the area where the Trustee lives. These are not intended to be elaborate affairs, but more intimate gatherings of selected invitees who are interested in YSI's youth service mission, and who might make a charitable contribution.
   
3. The third role of Trustees is to act as a brain trust for creating a cutting-edge organization. A wide range of expertise and good judgment is needed to help position YSI for achieving major impact and shaping the operations of the organization in the most effective manner possible.
