| Serbia: Subotica
- The city: Subotica lies in the
very northern part of Yugoslavia. The town is 10 kilometers
from the Yugoslav-Hungarian border. It is considered
a "gateway to Europe". Subotica is the second
biggest town of the Vojvodina province and the most
important administrative, industrial, trade, traffic
and cultural center of the North Backa region.

- Volunteer Group: 25 young volunteers
(average age is 16). The group has recently been incorporated
under the name Tridia.
- Sample Projects:
1. Cooperating with the local Caritas chapter in assisting
the elderly with their daily needs (cleaning, grocery
shopping or just having someone to talk with).
2. Providing peer education on issues such as AIDS
prevention for local youth.
3. Teaching Roma children Hungarian and Serbian languages
through group activities at a local playhouse.
4. Organizing modern dance performances at an elderly
home.
5. Assisting a local reforestation initiative; establishing
a small zoo, an eco-garden, and tree planting in the
school yard.
